Storm damage and insurance claims
After a windstorm or an atmospheric river, we document the roof so your insurer has what it needs, and we stand next to you when the adjuster comes. We never promise what a claim will pay.

What we do
Make it safe
Tarp any opening so no more water gets in. Keep the receipt; many policies expect you to prevent further damage.
Inspect and photograph
Every slope, ridge, flashing and the attic, with dated photos and a marked-up roof diagram.
Write it up
A plain report of what we found and a line-item estimate to repair or replace.
Meet the adjuster
We walk the roof with your adjuster and answer questions about the damage we documented.
You decide
Once you have the insurer's decision, you choose whether to go ahead. No pressure either way.
What we won't do
- Promise that your insurer will pay
- Claim damage we have not seen and photographed
- Offer to cover or waive your deductible
- Knock on doors after a storm
Your policy and your insurer decide coverage. If you have questions about your policy, ask your agent.
Questions
Will insurance pay for my roof?
Only your insurer can decide that, based on your policy and the cause of the damage. Wear, age and moss are usually not covered; sudden wind or storm damage may be. We tell you honestly what we see.
Should I call my insurer or you first?
If water is coming in, call us first so we can make it safe. Then call your insurer. Our photos and report help either way.
Do you charge for the claim paperwork?
The inspection, photos and written report are free. If the work goes ahead, our estimate is the price.
